Bakoven is Camps Bay's baby sister. A small exclusive seaside suburb located just as you leave Camps Bay en route to Llandudno and Hout Bay.

It is a suburb with two very distinct sides to it - below Victoria Road and above Victoria Road.

The homes below Victoria Road are mainly charming seaside bungalows and that area retains an almost village like feel, where neighbours still greet each other and know one another’s business.

Above Victoria Road, Bakoven is very much like the rest of Camps Bay, with which it merges.

For all shops, restaurants, bars and other facilities you’ll need to head down the Road (short walk away) to Camps Bay. There is a lovely little beach called Bakoven Beach, if you want a bit of privacy or to get away from the crowds at Camps Bay.

There is a small parking lot among the houses where you can park your car with a short flight of steps leading down to the beach. If you’re looking for a beach with more action head to Camps Bay (walking distance).

Seaside Haven was originally a fisherman’s abode, where some of South Africa’s best fisherman would stay when they wanted a weekend close to the sea in order to catch the precious mounds of lobster and abalone in the early morning.

Today the sea area in front of the house is a protected area for these sea creatures however you still have full majesty of feeling as if you are living on the ocean.

The Villa itself has also come a long way since its humble beginnings, being renovated many times.

However, as these properties are under very special care by the City Council the owner has kept the foundation and envelope of the house much the same to the original plans.

The patio doors are directly in front of the bed, giving you easy access to the outside pool deck, mere metres away from the ocean. Seaside Haven is truly a magnificent property, in arguably one of the best seaside locations world-wide. Few properties can compare!
